Tatar Khan governor of sonargaon under the Tughlaqs and entitled Khan-i-Azam Bahram Khan. Tatar Khan claimed himself to be the son of a king of Khurasan. Adopted by Sultan ghiyasuddin tughlaq, he was appointed governor of satgaon in 1324 and of Sonargaon in 1328. He died in 1337.
A great patron of learning he, with the assistance of
some scholars, produced a commentary on the Quran entitled Tafsir-i-Tatarkhani
and compiled a law book called Fatwa-i-Tatarkhani. [Muazzam Hussain
